Absolutely useless

and Unhelpful,they take a month to do any repair after booking it, funny because the majority of the time all I ever see on the roads is Helena housing/torus vans parked up somewhere with the repair guys sat in them with there feet up reading the paper for about an hour.I have been without a fence in my back garden for 11 years of being a Helena housing/Torus tenant.I've asked them numerous times to help, as I have dogs that are jumping and going the toilet all over nextdoors(private) garden because there is no fence up, and the remaining brickwork of what is left is crumbling away and dangerous.I can't afford to buy a whole new fence and I shouldn't have to...They keep ignoring me and refuse to build me a fence but they had no problem building one or two for my private neighbours who are not Helena housing/Torustenants.

Foundry wharf

I live at foundry wharf and ive not been a torus tenant long. First time i had to contact torus today about a refund thats been ongoing for several weeks. My impression of the customer advisor was that he lacked knowledge over my query and could not give any advice to support my concern. I consider the torus customer service to lack the experiance to assist in basic matters, they are unsupportive and have no proper complaints procedure, overall very poor.

Torus agreed

Torus agreed to clear tree roots from my drains. Torus own the property next door to me and the roots from this tree had blocked my drains.Torus sent a different company who came and did a bad job, meaning that the drains got more blocked and I had to go into a hotel (paid for my Torus).Paul Lowe from Torus apologised and said it would be sorted straight away. However, he stupidly got the same cowboys from RH back out and they have absolutely destroyed my drains and left a hole in the SVP which wasn't sealed.I have taken legal action against Torus (as they are ultimately responsible) RH were the company that have caused all the trouble and damage.Paula Lowe lied, the whole organisation are now ignoring me and have a very short time left to respond to my solicitor's letter.

They tried

They tried to charge me for my roof leaking in my bathroom at 2:30am and told to try and contain it what am I gonna climb on my roof and fix myself I'm taking this trading standards.

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting job on my ex wife house because she has a great deal of illnesses you think people don't care about her wish I could post the video of the finished job should be ashamed of yourself and your company.

Torus / hms

Torus / hms will leave your property / there property in worse state they dont wear masks they spend more time in the vans tryin find what job there doin and then u get the story how bad the company is of there own work men. nightmare try doing ya own diy.

I have two torus properties

I have two torus properties neighborouring my house and they refuse to pay towards new boundary fences in need of replacing. They believe it is down to their tennants even though torus are the land owners!

Contacted due to wasteland

Contacted due to wasteland owned by Torus not being maintained etc. Fast approaching 8 months without a response.

Absolute joke

Absolute joke of a company.roofs gone through so ceilings gone through flooded over my boiler been waiting 10 months for them repair it.been out over 10 times still broke but worse than it was.sick on complaining and website down.got left without hot water/heating for 3 days.said they’d be here within 48 hours didn’t turn up.roofs still leaking,ceiling still big hole.boiler still broke.disgrace.

Social landlords

Most of these so called 'social landlords' are the same, all about the money! getting repairs done is nigh on impossible, unless it is a high profile job and you live on a main road in which case they do everything because it looks good for them.people used to moan when they were council run houses, well it was nowhere near as bad. I've taken to doing most of my repairs myself as it is far easier and less traumatic. call centre staff are mostly useless, as are a lot of their so called 'tradesmen', I pushed for years to get a boiler replaced, when they finally agreed it took two men 5 days to swap a boiler, and then they couldn't wire up the roomstat, I had to do it myself!I had a roof leak, caused by their workmen, eventually it was fixed but I was given nothing for the water damage to my ceiling. It happened again in another room, we told them we were decorating and needed it fixed, which they allegedly did, we put up new wallpaper and painted the ceiling, then it leaked in again, damaging the decoration, after 3 visits it was repaired and I am still struggling to get anything done about the damage to my decorations which I paid for.Their attitude is "it's our house" , well it may be their house, but it's my home, I live here, why does everything have to become a massive argument before you get anything done? They always said they were very busy, then they began merging with other housing associations and cutting staff, well that makes sense, NOT!If you cannot manage say 1000 houses with 200 staff, then how are you going to manage 3000 houses with 100 staff? It is supposed to be a 'charity' well someone is making a lot of money.

Very poor company

Very poor company, obsessed with not doing repairs, often leading to bigger repairs being needed. Left me without a flushing toilet for a week with 5 people in the house. I had to pay to get a leak repaired myself as they wouldn't do it, even though it had destroyed a ceiling which they then had to fix. Now leaving me without heating or hot water when its -2.

Absolute nightmare

Absolute nightmare from the beginning. I purchased a shared ownership apartment in 2015. This was a new build at the end of 2012, but my apartment had never sold.Their solicitor took 6 months to get everything moving.Multiple faults with the property, some of which were not apparent until it was too late to report. Others were fixed on the cheap.The boiler was never installed properly, but this was only discovered when I had to pay for it to be repaired due to a leak and the flame not igniting. Helena/Torus washed their hands of it as the building was over 2 years old, despite me being the first occupant and the fact that the fault was caused by the way the boiler was installed.The plumbing in the kitchen was installed incorrectly; the pipe with the blue valve carries hot water and the pipe with red valve cold. This has caused me to send hot water into my washing machine, effectively invalidating its warranty. Again, not their problem!Worse still, in autumn 2015 the roof began leaking. Initially, they advised me to claim the cost of the repair on my home insurance until I explained - at length - that they were actually liable for this leak as the leaseholder.Several attempts at the repair later and it kept on recurring. The most recent occurrence - after 4 years with a hole in the ceiling (I gave up on having it repaired as I had lost all faith in their ability to get it repaired) - it started leaking again. This was October 2019, at which point I had decided to relocate to Milton Keynes to live with my girlfriend.I had to chase them constantly to get this repaired. The flooring I had installed was ruined and I was awarded about a third of the cost.FIVE MONTHS later, they finally completed the repair of the roof and ceiling. This was March 2020. I then had the apartment valued and placed on the market, but then of course the COVID-19 pandemic was with us and lockdown started the week I put the apartment on the market.Car parking was never set up correctly; other residents park multiple vehicles because spaces are not allocated. This has caused issues with neighbours. Furthermore, the electricity is not billed correctly because they have it no thought in the beginning. There is also nowhere to put wheelie bins except for one of the parking spaces, exacerbating the parking problems!Since then, its value has plummeted and Iam now a mortgage prisoner, trapped with a mortgage with Leeds Building Society which was 5.69% APR (now 5.19%). Torus will not reduce the cost of their share for me to buy in order to sell on the open market, despite all the problems I have experienced.Torus and all associated former companies need to be disbanded and a new organisation needs to exist.Torus are a completely unprofessional, incompetent and with their public sector mentality, don't expect things to get done! An absolute joke, as others have said. Torus are a disgrace.

Own Staff

As several of their OWN STAFF have confirmed they don't give a hoot for staff, residents OR property, they're only ambition is raking in money I'm homebound disabled following 2 stroke they don't give a stuff WHY SHOULD THEY, then elderly people USING 2 STICKS are told TAKE A BUCKET OF WATER UPSTAIRS TO FLUSH THE TOILET.

Evicting mentally disabled

Not hesitating to rush evicting even mentally disabled during global Covid-19 Pandemic and National Lockdown to hide neglectance. Or maybe it's just one corrupter in warm spot and company is good in general, because renting happily from them almost 7 years. And except one employee responsible for everyone safety started favoring just those which she wish.. But facts is facts that statements can be mixed and twisted and safer estates oficer responsible for taking all sides into acc can became witness against you and you can complain nowhere. What's regarding repairs they at least in my situation, always was helpful ant fast. Except waiting 4 year for new doors =] Good that handy myself. But bricked window was boarded in 1-2h, changed to new in week or two time. When tree felt, it was sorted next day. But can agree, with the plumbing they have issues, was fixing myself due long waiting time. Maybe lack of workers? Attaching screen in support and to ask is it at all legal to make such requests during global Covid-19 Pandemic and National Lockdown? 15 days notice to leave home in which you living almost 7 ears.. Bad management

Very bad, management. Not safe place For vulnerable people . Money making scam(business)Ripping money from tenants and also claiming benefits on their .Lack of support, communication, management. Manger Amy is quite rude she doesn’t professional communication skills. She doesn’t know how to treat or communicate skills . I think other staff who work under her are more responsible and suitable for this role

Shared ownership

I moved into my shared ownership flat over 2 years ago. There are outstanding problems from when I moved in. They do not even reply to my calls/messages. Unfortunately I am stuck here now, but I would certainly tell anyone considering shared ownership with Torus not to bother! I'm a bit relieved I've seen these other similar reviews as I was beginning to think it was just me! 0 stars from me!

I agree

I agree wholeheartedly with all the negative reviews, both Torus and Goldengates Housing are the ultimate joke! I've had a dirty, filthy, stinking, vile heroin addict living underneath me for the past three and a half years, and she's ruined my life. I've formally complained about her 4-5 times a week since she moved in........ and they've done nothing to help me.I've been forced to sleep on my sofa for almost 2 years, and she wakes me up at least four times a night...... basically they don't give a (rhymes with truck!). Stop paying your rent though and you'll soon get their attention! They don't give a stuff for their tenants!

Simply incapable

A company that has salespeople that are simply incapable of understanding what courtesy is, or respect. I simply asked to view a property to which the sales person said they would need to find the keys and would call me back. (I aimed to view on the day I called) Unfortunately it did not occur to him that after finding the keys he should have called me back, or perhaps he was incapable of remembering our discussion. Nevertheless, this could be excused as I called not once but several times to which, suprisingly, instead of my call being answered in 3 seconds like my initial call, they simply blanked me out afterwards. If this is how they treat people, I advise anyone who wishes to conduct business with this company to tread cautiously...

Beyond arrogant

I'd give them a minus if I could. They are beyond arrogant and completely incompetent. They blame everything on systems or unusual work loads. They give generic responses to complaints, in which they also lie about details. They're unresponsive to legal contact. They're rude and think they can speak to their customers in any manner they wish. An absolute disgrace of an organisation which is in no way organised. Completely unprofessional.
